David Fung has given masterclasses at leading institutions in the United States including the Colburn School, Duke University, Eastman School of Music, Florida State University, Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Northwestern University, and the Yale School of Music, and internationally at the Central Conservatory of Music (China), Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University of the Arts, the Royal Conservatory of Music (Canada), and the University of New South Wales (Australia).

A frequent adjudicator of competitions, Mr. Fung served as a jury member for the United States and Canadian finals Steinway & Sons Piano Competition, the MTNA competitions, the finals of the Yale School of Music Concerto Competition, the Southeast Piano Competition, the finals of the 2MBS Fine Music Young Virtuoso Award in Australia, the Bader & Overton Canadian Piano Competition, and the Australian Music Foundation Scholarships in New York. His students have been awarded top prizes at numerous competitions including the New York International Artist Competition, Vancouver International Music Competition, Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, as well as the ENKOR, Vivo, Metropolitan, Southeastern, Music Teachers National Association and Canadian Music competitions.

Mr. Fung has served as Artist-Faculty at the Anchorage Chamber Music Festival, Atlantic Music Festival, Bari International Music Festival (Italy), Northern Lights Festival de Febrero (Mexico), John Perry Academy Summer Festival, Lake George Music Festival, MusicFest Perugia (Italy), and Piano Week (United Kingdom) where he was a special guest artist. He was recently Artist in Residence at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, where he gave a number of lectures and masterclasses in addition to his recitals at Shatin Town Hall and Hong Kong City Hall.  Mr. Fung previously taught piano and chamber music at Yale University, served as Associate Professor at the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music, and is currently on the faculty at the University of British Columbia.
